Konexio Mentor Matching Platform

Konexio is a Paris-based organization that teaches refugees fundamental skills in information and communication technologies. Its goal is to promote socio-economic integration and fight against unemployment among those from disadvantaged backgrounds. At the 2018 Tufts IDHack (International Development Hackathon), Konexio requested a mentor matching system for their students to connect to technology professionals.
As the project manager and lead design researcher on my team, I was responsible for conducting user research, performing customer journey mapping, creating personas and wireframes. My goal was to create a platform that put the power of connecting in the refugee's hands, and the power of accepting that invitation in the mentor’s hand. Among other features, I recommended designing a Forum to promote organic networking between these individuals. By adopting a design thinking approach, we ensured that our minimal viable product addressed the needs of Konexio, and student refugees in Paris.
